The new configuration of the man-machine relationship in the world of work

Abstract

Robotics, predictive and generative artificial intelligence are transforming the configuration of human-machine coexistence in all dimensions of social life, especially in the workplace. The cognitive capacity given to machines, combined with their physical and mechanical attributes, allows for the replacement of human workers in many functions across many sectors. How to achieve a balanced coexistence between humans and machines in the workplace is one of the relevant issues emerging in the contemporary scenario. The research, undertaken through a qualitative, exploratory approach, drew on multidisciplinary authors and highlighted cases in the areas of industry, agriculture, and society in general. Technological literacy proved to be an urgent initiative that should be aimed at all types of workers.
